A huge rock fill dam which captures the world's longest river, the Nile River, in the world's third largest reservoirs, Lake Nasser. The dam, known as Saad el Aali in Arabic, was completed in 1970 after ten years of work. Today it provides irrigation and electricity for the whole of Egypt and, together with the old Aswan Dam built by the British between 1898 and 1902, 6km down river, makes wonderful views for visitors.

Later visit the Unfinished Obelisk. Aswan has always been known as being the main source for granite that was used to build obelisks for temples all over the country. This obelisk if completed, would have been the tallest standing at about 42 metres high. The legend goes that during construction the workers noticed problems and just abandoned future construction.

Noon sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Temple of Sobek and Horus.
Kom Ombo stands by the Nile just south of Gebel el-Silsila, between Aswan and Edfu, at the site of the ancient city of Per Sobek (the estate of Sobek). The Temple of Sobek and Horus the Elder is an unconventional temple in that it is dedicated to two triads of deities; Sobek, Hathor and their child Khonsu, and Horus the Elder (Heru-ur or Haroeris), Tasenetnofret ("the good sister") and their child Panebtawy (the Lord of the Two Lands). Sobek and Horus the Elderare the two primary gods, and so the temple was also known as "House of the Crocodile" (Sobek) and "Castle of the Falcon" (Horus). After the tour back to the cruise.

DAY 04
Early morning, visit the Horus Temple in Edfu in Horse carriage.
The Temple of Horus in Edfu (also known as the Temple of Edfu) is considered the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt. This partly because it was built later than most: in the Ptolemaic era from 237 to 57 BC.The temple is dedicated to the Falcon god, Horus.

This was a secret place, where sentries were placed at the entrance of the Valley, as well as along the top of the hills, in the hopes of discouraging tomb robbers, who had in the past plundered all royal tombs, including the treasures of the Pyramids!
You will visit the great mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut built out of the rock with terraces and colonnades, and pass by the Colossus of Memnon which was erected in the honor of the pharaoh Amenophis.
After lunch we visit Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple. Marvel at the magnificent and monumental massiveness of Karnak and Luxor Temple, temples that need to be seen to be believed!
Luxor Temple is the "Hundred Gated" Temple of Thebes, built by two kings, Amenophis III and Ramses II during the Middle Kingdom Period (2050-1652 BC). The Temple includes royal courts surrounded by pairs of Papyrus-bunded columns, sanctuaries and chapels full of wall designs, inscriptions and sacrificial screens.
Also visit Karnak Temple, the biggest temple complex in the world, covering an area of 100 hectares and there is no where more impressive to the first-time visitor.
